Requirements

To be able to successfully complete the course, you will need:

  • Computer (PC or Laptop) or; a notebook
  • Webcam + Microphone + Speakers
    To ensure engagement and participation, we do require participants to have and use a webcam
  • A stable internet connection
  • A workbook (a download link will be sent when you register)
  • Must use Google Chrome if using Zoom through a web browser

Not permitted

Please be aware that the following is not permitted:

  • Teleconference style attendance (i.e multiple participants using the same computer/screen)
  • Mobile phones
If you do not have all of the above requirements met, then you will not be able to attend the course. In this situation, you will be able to transfer your booking to another date for free when you are able to meet these conditions.

If your internet connection is unstable on the day of the training or you having technical difficulties you will be asked to exit the zoom meeting, and will be able to transfer your booking to another date.

Our expectations

  • All participants should participate in the training - through asking questions and answering questions or discussions that the facilitator invites.
    Failure to participate may result in not being awarded with a certificate
  • All participants should have familiarised themselves with Zoom prior to the training session starting, including testing webcam, speakers and microphone. (See zoom help links at the left menu).
  • All participants should join at 8:45am on the morning of the training to ensure that you have enough time to resolve any potential technical issues
In addition, during the training (will be explained by the facilitator at the start of training):
  • Participants should ask questions by using the 'hand' or 'thumbs up' Zoom reaction
  • Participants should not share their own screen
  • Participants should be in appropriate environment for training

Information

In South Australia a wide range of people are required by law to notify the Department for Child Protection of situations of Risk and Harm to children and young people are suspected.

Trainers are Department of Human Services and Department for Education approved facilitators
